Blog it

I haven't written in forever so I thought I'd give it a try again. I feel like I spend too much time on the computer as it is so I am lukewarm about doing this. I read Syne Mitchell's column in Handwoven today and felt encouraged to give it another try.

I think this is one of those generational things. People in their 20s and 30s seem to get pleasure from doing this and they seem able to make it personal without having it seem too intimate. I would much rather talk on the phone to someone than write about my experiences. I enjoy reading some blogs, mostly about weaving and knitting.

I'm going to give it a try.

Today is a very exciting day for me, I am meeting with the pump trainer to learn how to use my new One Touch Ping. It's a great pump with many of the features I want and need. I have had insulin dependent diabetes for 48 years and have been using an insulin pump for 27 years. I've seen a lot of changes in that time. Being able to do my blood sugars at home has been the best and greatest advance in my lifetime.

I am alos committed to get downstairs and weave, weave, weave today. I'll post more pictures soon.

So, there it is, my first gut spilling in a long time. Not sure anyone really cares but me.

Blogging is not a generational thing! I, for one am 70! And I don't much care for talking on the phone. I would much rather send emails or write letters. You might enjoy podcasting more than blogging? Syne Mitchell is asking for help so she can grow her podcast to a new level. All sorts of possibilities: editing footage, interviewing people....... And she will teach you.

You know that saying...."just build it and they will come."
I think we should just "write it" and do the same.
If one person reads my wanderings, and is encouraged, inspired, amused, or in any other way is moved, then it is worth it.
Keep writing.
Someone is reading it!!!
