Weaving rag rugs

It has been a while since I wrote anything.  My time has been absorbed with weaving and learning to weave rag rugs.  Also, I bought a new, larger loom so I can weave rugs.  It takes a much heavier loom than mine to do this.  I got a great loom and spent almost a month cleaning it up, fixing and adding missing pieces.  Now, I have warped, threaded and am weaving a rug!!!  It's great fun and it also looks great, I will try to post some pictures.

My little loom is also threaded and warped and I am busy weaving a tencel scarf.  It's looking very nice so far.  I'll post pictures when it's ready.

I have two questions....

How did you prepare the rags you used in these rag rugs?

And what looms do you have?

I just purchased my second loom, and am in the cleaning up phase. I got my new-to-me Toika because I want to weave wider things than my Baby Wolf will allow.

Happy weaving!

I have 2 looms, a baby wolf 4 harness and a Tools of the Trade 8 harness 36". I prepare the rags by tearing them. I cut them every 1-1.5" and have a friend take every other end and we walk away from each other tearing the fabric into strips. It works great.
