Blogging

See, this is what I am confused about.  What's the point of a blog?  Can anyone help me out here?  Maybe I'm just not hip enough to understand.

Despite being retired, my days are very full.  I spend as much time as possible weaving and more time than i want on the computer, I cook, clean and generally "keep house', as it were.  Somehow the days fly past. There is so much more I never complete in a day and one thing I want to spend more time doing is learning about things online.

For instance, I want to know how to reach more people with my blog.  How an I get folks to read and respond to my entries.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I just found your blog because you posted it on the weaving list. People blog for a lot of different reasons. I can speak only for myself. I resisted blogging because blogging would take time away from weaving. While, literally, that may be true, in reality I have become a better and more focused weave as a result. My intention was to write a kind of daily journal which I would allow others to read. That's not exactly what it is, but it comes as close to that as I can get it. I enjoy writing, but I also enjoy the fact that some weavers seem to find some of my posts helpful. Ohh, and blogging has forced me to become a better photographer!

I too found your blog at the weaving list...I started blogging for the fun of it, and it grew! I enjoy seeing what others are doing with their fiber skills and I find I learn a lot from them too.
Welcome to blogging...Ginny
